Richard Kramer is a proven results-oriented leader and technologist with 30+ years of technology and business leadership experience in the high-volume electronics and software industries. Richard has a proven track record of translating customer opportunities, technical innovation, and cross-functional execution into high returns with demonstrated achievements within Fortune 100 and emerging companies alike.
Richard has served as a top-technology leader in the introduction of new technologies in the areas of: video, video compression / encoding, multimedia, streaming media, network communications, wireless communications, wireless networks, cryptography, encryption, authentication, digital rights, physical security (video surveillance, cameras, digital video recorders, burglar alarm systems, intelligent locks, monitoring software), Internet / web-based client-server /cloud architectures, advanced software, and data security.
Richard is currently the President of SIS Development, Inc (“SIS”). SIS provides technical services to leading product and software companies like Google, Apple, Netflix, YouTube, FLIR Systems, Honeywell, ADT, Schlage/Allegion, ASUS and the like.
Prior to founding SIS Development, Inc., Richard served as General Manager-Technology and Vice President, Engineering at General Electric’s GE Security division, where he led a progressive 300+ person engineering/technology organization with +$500M per year in revenue. At GE, Richard managed 16 geographically dispersed organizations, providing advanced enterprise, commercial, residential and real-estate solutions for the video surveillance, intrusion systems, alarm monitoring, and key control markets.
Before joining GE, Richard held top technology leadership positions within leading companies like Scientific-Atlanta (later acquired by Cisco), Schlumberger Industries and start-up innovation leaders Ivex Corporation (IP enabled video surveillance solutions) and Home Wireless Networks (IP wireless gateways).
At Oregon State University, Richard earned his MSEE and Ph.D. degrees where he graduated at the top of his class for both degrees (4.0 GPA). Prior to attending Oregon State University, Richard earned a BSEE degree from the University of Toledo where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Richard received additional education as part of Emory University’s Executive MBA program (ranked as a top-10 business school program at the time), is a Six-Sigma Black Belt, and he holds two patents.
