Jim York, Project Manager
Jim York has over 20 years of experience in product development and project management developing highly differentiated electronic products and advance software solutions. He has led many domestic and international engineering teams to deliver on time and on-budget solutions.
Before working with Security Industry Services as a Project Manager, he was VP of Engineering and CTO of Supra Products, which was acquired by General Electric. His work at Supra Products included the introduction of a revolutionary recurring revenue software solution and a unique electronic key control system. The solution cornered 90% of the real-estate market and grew company sales from $50M to $150M in 3 years.
Jim also served as project manager for GE-Security, introducing a number of advanced video and IP networks products including the advanced “Legend” Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera system. Before Supra Products/GE, Jim worked for AT&T/Bell Laboratories for 10 years as an both a Member of the Technical Staff and R&D Manager (smart card systems). At AT&T/Bell he received numerous awards for being a high performing manager. Jim also held leadership roles related to the development of OEM solutions and wireless technologies.
Jim holds both MS and BS Engineering degrees from Purdue University. He is a fully certified Project Management Professional (PMP) #590380. Further, Jim holds 3 patents and has introduced over 20 major products to market during his career.
